ANSI - Basic Hardboard This Standard defines hardboard, covers requirements and test methods for water absorption, thickness swelling, modulus of rupture, tensile strength, surface finish, dimensions, squareness, edge straightness and moisture content of five classes of basic hardboard. Where appropriate, test methods in ASTM D 1037 are required. Methods of identifying hardboard that conforms to this Standard are provided. ANSI - Prefinished Hardboard Paneling This Standard covers requirements and methods of testing for dimensions, squareness, edge straightness and moisture content of prefinished hardboard paneling and for the finish of the paneling. Methods of identifying products which conform to the Standard are included. ANSI - Hardboard Siding This Standard covers requirements and methods of testing for dimensions, squareness, physical properties and surface characteristics of hardboard siding.
